The climber Patrick Edlinger visits the various sites of the American West such as Joshua Tree (routes and blocks), Yosemite (blocks), Hueco Tanks (blocks) as well as Smith Rock (routes). We see him in particular with Russ Clune, Ron Kauk, Jean-Paul Lemercier, Todd Skinner on numerous sequences illustrated with music of Amerindian inspiration by Benoît Fromanger. Less well-known than the two previous films, "Life at your fingertips" and "Opera Vertical", it nevertheless remains a reference for all climbing enthusiasts and admirers of Edlinger, the most famous climber in the world. His familiar voice comes off and punctuates many sequences with a few mythical phrases that sum up the man, such as: "Climbing, this useless thing to which I dedicate my life. »
