Born Criminal

An artist is arrested and imprisoned by a regime that forbids self-expression and creativity. She is being held captive in a prison cell. Alone and frightened, surrounded by sounds of the approaching war, her thoughts and words are directed towards the four walls of the cell. Is she alone, or have other artists also been imprisoned? What happened to freedom and democracy? Will the approaching allies reach her in time and save her? Fear and encroaching insanity cause her to hallucinate. She has a vision and Leonardo da Vinci visits her cell. She asks him, will Art survive. A second vision of a future artist tells her He and She are the future, nothing can stop Art. Explosions and sounds of a raging war are closer, She fears for her life, but She knows the regime will not have victory; artists are the future.
