A young French journalist tries to persuade Salvador Dalí as he attempts a documentary project. The artist, as he is in the twilight of his career, prioritizes media appearances so he accepts the request. But when he learns the documentary will be written and not filmed, he cancels, insisting only cinema can capture his essence... In this whimsical tale, the line between reality and illusion blurs as the French director breaks down the painter's personality to offer a delirious and unclassifiable comedy.
