Two people are spending their lives as typists, addressing postcards for a mail-order house. Paul says, that his employment is strictly temporary, he is studying law at night. Sylvia has a few dreams herself - mostly of the romantic variety. Within the short span of the play, they begin to age and grow gray, chattering of the bright future that will be coming up any day.
