Our process of electing government officials skews representation toward the whims and the wills of the few; often at great expense to the many. The oppressive and conscious-less tactics used upon Black and brown bodies has produced a network of systems whose sole aim was to intimidate, isolate, and indoctrinate. Their lives, a constant battle between successful reentry and recidivism challenge this network. The Powers and original rulers of this nation are able to benefit economically, politically, and socially; however, the modern-day form of oppression is the penal system's supervision of Black and brown bodies once they are released from their cells. This ruination is achieved through giving individuals a label that is indicative of permanent second class status. For this reason, the criminal justice system is guilty of injustice, or is it?
