The Piano Lesson (2024)

Set in 1936, the story follows Boy Willie (John David Washington), who is determined to sell the family piano to purchase the land where his ancestors were enslaved. His sister Berniece (Danielle Deadwyler) fiercely guards the piano, despite never playing it herself. Their uncle Doaker (Samuel L. Jackson) attempts to mediate the conflict as "The Piano Lesson" balances the sibling rivalry with a deeper, more ominous issue. The family is haunted by a ghostly presence, and Boy Willie gives Berniece an ultimatum that she is too fearful to confront.
