The Runner

The Runner is a dramatic short based on a feature film script with the same title. Muri Rara is a Native American, long distance runner who is past his prime. He lives as a recluse in a large metropolitan area where he can blend in, work a menial job and go about his daily life isolated from those around him. His only relationships are with stray dogs and other castoffs, both human and animal. Fate has different plans for Muri when his life collides with a young 8 year old girl Leigh, who lives next door with her alcoholic mother Debra. When the Leigh's mother disappears, Muri must decide what to do with his new friend who he has formed a unique bond with.
