The movie begins with Jaime (Julia Marie Black) in her car outside of an A-Frame home that resembles something you'd see at a winter-getaway-ski-resort. She is holding a picture in her hand that depicts two young kids. She gets out of the car and walks up to the front door, where she is aggressively greeted by Gary the groundskeeper (David Black). He inquires what she's doing here, to which she responds that she was invited by her friend Jake. Gary informs Jaime that she and the rest of the crew will be sleeping in the barn because the house is under construction. In the barn waiting we have Kirsten (Chelsea Bolles), Jake (Patrick Saint Ange), and Bodie (Andrew Ajaka). Bodie is practicing slight of hand card tricks, Jake is setting up a sleeping bag, and Kirsten is doing the bare minimum to help. Shortly later, Jaime enters the barn. Everyone is happy to see her, they exchange hello's, and get on their way to the main event. The 4 make their way through the woods until they find a spot that Jaime likes. They take turns making a speech about their departed friend, Ben, who was also Jaime's brother and Kirsten's boyfriend. Each of them have brought something to put into a jar: Jaime brought a photo of her and Ben, Bodie brought a joint, Jake brought a spare key to the barn, and Kirsten brought a bracelet Ben had given her. They put these 4 items into the jar and bury it in the woods. After this memorial, the crew is having a party in the barn. Jake and Bodie are playing beer pong while Jaime and Kirsten have a heart to heart on the couch. Jaime reveals that she's been having a hard time at school. Kirsten reminds her that she's only a phone call away if she ever needs anything and tells her "don't be a stranger". Jake and Bodie finish their game and Bodie reveals that he has another joint and asks everyone to "light up" in Ben's memory. This upsets Jaime because she was under the impression that Bodie wasn't going to smoke tonight. He reluctantly agrees but then quickly decides he has to go inside the house to pee, despite Gary's warnings of staying away. Inside, Bodie instead looks for a lighter so he can smoke. As he finds one, he hears a weird noise and goes to investigate. He sees something upstairs, runs away, and trips and falls. Back in the barn, Jaime and Kirsten are having a go at beer pong. They start talking about Kirsten's new relationship with Jake, which clearly upsets Jaime, but Kirsten is more focused on the fact that she never even got an explanation to how Ben died. Jaime is clearly hiding something, and the conversation starts to get heated, but Jake interrupts, asking if Bodie has returned yet. The two girls agree that he hasn't been seen yet, so Jake goes to check on him. Inside, Jake finds Bodie dead on the ground with a pool of blood coming out of his head. Jake freaks out as we see something (or someone) in the background behind him. As Jake finally decides to call 911, the figure continues to approach until it is clear that the figure is another Bodie. Shapeshifter Bodie knocks out Jake. Jake (this time the shapeshifter), returns to the barn urging the girls to come look at what he found. He brings them to the basement where the real Jake is tied up. Shapeshifter Jake tells the girls that the figure on the ground (real Jake) is a shapeshifter. Out of fear, Jaime kills the real Jake, believing that he is a shapeshifter. The 3 run back to the barn trying to figure out what to do. Kirsten says that she'll start the car to leave and runs out of the barn. Now it is just Shapeshifter Jake and Jaime left in the barn. The shapeshifter morphs into Kirsten, revealing to Jaime that she killed the wrong Jake. The shapeshifter then leaves the barn, leaving both versions of Kirsten out of Jaime's sight. Jaime grabs a 2x4 and starts to run out of the barn, where she is approached by Shapeshifter Kirsten. Jaime pushes her off of her and keeps running outside where she is approached by real Kirsten. Jaime beats her with the 2x4 until she is dead. Jaime reenters the barn to tell Kirsten that she took care of the shapeshifter but is once again presented with the horrifying realization that she killed her friend, not the shapeshifter. The two have a back and forth dialogue where Jaime tries to blame the shapeshifter, but the shapeshifter claims that they didn't do anything wrong. Jaime insists that the shapeshifter killed Bodie, but the shapeshifter tells Jaime that Bodie tripped and fell, and that Gary the groundskeeper was already dead when they arrived. The shapeshifter feeds off of strong emotions, they don't have to be negative. It's Jaime's choice how things go. All of the killings were her fault, not the shapeshifter's. The shapeshifter also reveals to the audience that it's Jaime's fault that her brother, Ben, is dead. With nothing left for her, Jaime begs the shapeshifter to kill her. The shapeshifter refuses, telling her that if she really wants to be punished then she can live the rest of her life not knowing if the people in her life are really the people in her life. The shapeshifter, now in the form of Jaime, exits the barn and tells Jaime "don't be a stranger". Blackout.
