Liberty (2022)

Matt is a young park guide who feels an intense connection with wildlife and nature, but our anti-hero is also an idealist, an animal rights activist in conflict with those who imprison animals for commercial and entertainment purposes. His deep love for animals leads him to take six humans captive and subject them to the conditions of caged animals. As his hostages run the gamut from confusion and disbelief to anger and hostility to grief and despair, Matt compares their mental and physical breakdown to those of wild animals suffering in captivity. Matt's chilling narrative makes a compelling yet deeply human case for animal rights.
