Take My Hand (2023)

After his Great-Grandmother's death, a boy, Raysean, succumbs to the pressures from his mother and the mockery from classmates for participating in a classical voice program. Feeling misunderstood and unheard, he finally erupts during a confrontation with his mother, in which she calls him out for skipping rehearsals and lying to her regarding his whereabouts. After deciding to quit, his friends Aria and Aiden take him on an unexpected journey to the past, where he reconnects with his cultural roots, passions, and explores his self-worth. Raysean learns to take pride in his Blackness and to appreciate the foundation of work, laid out for him by his ancestors. He grows in his self securities and learns not to take to heart, the things spoken over him by his peers, and he's given space to give a sincere, heartfelt goodbye to his late Great-Grandmother, whom he was very close to.
