Layla (the lead Actor) cant quite keep her finger on the pulse of the truth as she untangles herself from the throes of unrequited love, untrustworthy friends, and confusing loneliness in the aftermath of her parents' untimely death. Her tragic circumstances lead her into the questionable care of a psychiatrist, mourning a dissolved relationship with a philandering ex-boyfriend and under the wing of her manipulative Aunt Stella who insists she knows what's best for her. Hoping for the chance to process her heartbreak in the privacy of the family's rural lake home, Layla finds herself in an episode of disquietude when a series of suspicious visits marks the unraveling of her inner world. A strange but charming so-called neighbor, Alexander begins to visit her, providing a much needed source of respite and distraction from the uneasiness clouding her life. Seemingly unaltered by her apparent psychological struggles, Layla grows fond of his mysterious visits and barely questions his even more mysterious origins. Caught in between the grasping hands of her trifling ex-boyfriend, an imposing aunt, and a new love- interest, Layla finds herself sinking deeper into emotional turmoil. Long time best friend takes a stab at moderating the tension growing in the home, but Layla's newfound adoration poses the risk of driving a fatal wedge between herself and her former inner circle. Unsure of who to trust, what to believe, and where to turn, Layla takes a journey to the edge of reality. Betrayed by life and illusions of sincerity, she must discover who is wielding illusion against her as a weapon and unveil the truth behind her growingly unpredictable circumstances. Secret alliances, growing suspicions, and fading trust compels each character to face down their lingering demons, or fuel them into chaos. As Megan struggles within liminal spaces, hidden intentions will drive the group towards a dangerous impasse.
