Leocadia Cantalapiedra, is an early twentieth century enigmatic character who adopts a series of alter ego to accomplish a dream, make films. She travels to the USA in 1914, just before the WW1, with the support of his mother, Fuencisla Cuadrado, a woman very advanced in her time. There she study photography and cinema. She returns to Spain determined to make films. She dressed like a man with the objective to camouflage herself, in a time where the women could only think about marriage.. She adopts an alter ego named Nico, and gets to shoot "Zapatos", the Spanish version of "Shoes", a film by the American Lois Weber. As she does not find support to publicize her work in Madrid, in the early twenties, she travels to Paris where she got a job as a celluloid colorist at the Pathé factory. She comes in contact with the Vanguard and adopts a second alter ego "Zoe" imbued with the crazy twenties. Leo/Zoe loves the surrealist films of Germaine Dulac and will try by all means to make that same cinema, she will succeed?
