Quantique (2019)

Father Charles Everett is an eminent theologian with a specialization in quantum physics who was tasked by the Vatican with developing a quantum sphere. Capable of capturing virtual photons from the void, this device could make it possible to catch a glimpse of the primordial universe prior to the big bang, before time and space even occurred. The Vatican thereby intends to prove the existence of God through scientific means and thus revive a religion which had been losing momentum. In order to succeed, Charles turned to the work of Luka, a world-famous astrophysicist who is also a convinced atheist. When the priest decides to show him the sphere despite the absolute secret ordered by the Vatican, Charles causes the wrath of his superiors. An initiative that could well precipitate the events.
