From the age of six, Sean, a product of a marriage that didn't work and a life that often seemed tumultuous and broken, dreamed of providing more for his Mom and sisters. When Sean discovers football, and with the help and training from his relentless father PETE, Sean becomes a recognizable young talent on the Pop-Warner scene in Miami. As Sean grew, he had to reconcile his exceptionalism with the problems that accompanied it. He struggled to stay away from the traps of living in an area that was neither incredibly rich nor poor, but adjacent to both. He was able to see how the wealthy lived, but was unable to join them. He was able to share in the problems of the impoverished but never fully belonged. He channeled his frustrations of middle-class self identity into his art - the art of achieving dominance on the football field. And as time passed, he became a master at it.
