Toronto is often touted as "North America's Most Diverse City." Some would argue, the world's. To an extent, this is true. Toronto has more immigrants per-capita than most places, the segregation isn't as hard-lined as Chicago, and the food options are hard to beat. However, as anyone who's grown up non-white and Canadian knows, Canada is no "racial paradise." This film will tell the story of one young woman who was born and raised in the suburbs of Toronto, one whose parents and extended family are all from Jamaica. Moreover, it will examine the day-to-day racism that she experiences as a Black woman living in Canada, and reveal what outsiders do not see when they think of the North.
