In the last two years French cinema has been an enormous hit with the public, both at home and abroad. Amélie, Il Patto dei Lupi, 8 Femmes are just some of the films that have led to this success. But at the same time, a new type of "Americanised" entrepreneur, including Jean-Marie Mèssier, are once again challenging the protectionist system that has sustained French cinema from the cultural and production point of view.
