Perched on a dry lake in historic Bitter Leaf, California, the Raccoon Village Family Resort is a shadow of its former glory. Suddenly, in breezes that shaman of showmen Jack Hicks (Joe Greco) with a lightning tongue and a bizarre proposal to resuscitate Raccoon Village by letting it host The Bitter Leaf Film Festival (formerly "The Blazing Hills Film Festival" until the fire). The rules: each entry must not have cost more than $500 to make. Soon the cut-rate spa is overflowing with cut-rate glitterati cutting deals, ducking photogs, and talking big-big-big. Meet Luis Cristal (Larry Maraviglia), Eurotrash auteur of the film "Black" which is just that -- no picture, almost no sound. Just black. And Mitchell Starch (Steve Sheeren), whose film "Abbot and Costello Meet Alien" is sure to be the hit of the festival as long as he can take care of a few legal matters first such as permission to use the "Abbott and Costello" and "Alien" clips. And Rudolfo Finnini (Tom Schanley), whose next project is a Punk-Rasta version of Lewis Carroll's tale entitled "Alice With Attitude." Meanwhile Brad (Francis Dellavecchia), the hapless owner of Raccoon Village, is desperate to steal his pretty Activities Director Carolyn (Julia Murphy) from the stoned-and-wasted clutches of Jason (J. Keith van Straaten), the Dude Who Runs The Boat Trips. So a war for art (of sorts) is underway. But will anything be left of Raccoon Village once all the geniuses are through snacking?
