CALVIN WOLF, an Indigenous K-9 detective for the county sheriff's department, works at one of the busiest cross-country illegal drug entry ports in North America. Though he no longer lives on the reservation, Calvin grieves over the detrimental impact of substance abuse on his own people. Calvin is wounded when a trafficking take-down, carefully-coordinated with federal agent JACK GATES, is circumvented by heavily-armed intruders. During his recovery, a tribal peace officer - and long-time family friend - is murdered. With his partner SHEA PARKER, he meets park ranger IRENE McCLOUD at the ceremonial funeral. Calvin reconnects with his native roots for healing, as he digs into the convoluted case. Irene and her brother NATE McCLOUD help him navigate the backwoods investigation between the park and the reservation, putting their own safety at risk. The trail of the murder intersects with the trail of the drug heist - and Calvin is caught in the middle, not knowing whom to trust. He's up against crooked federal agents, tribal turncoats, and a professional hitman, - trying to catch a killer while saving himself and Irene.
