Peasant Ridge

Rose Jolie, a transgender girl from the wrong side of the tracks, is super excited about the senior Homecoming dance. In the past, she's always gone with her gay best friend, Michael "Mouse" Malek. But this year, Rose has her eyes set on popular (and oh so cute!) Blaise Fairwood. In her quest to get close to him, Rose invites Blaise to audition for the school play - an angsty '80s-inspired teen drama called Peasant Ridge, in which a poor girl falls in love with a rich boy, proving true love conquers all. Since Blaise is off the football team due to a broken arm, maybe he'll give acting a shot? At auditions, sparks fly between Blaise and Rose, and Blaise is cast as Rose's leading man. In order to convincingly portray on stage BF and GF, Rose and Blaise start hanging out together off stage...much to Mouse's chagrin. Turns out, Mouse has secretly been in love with Rose since first meeting her, back when she still presented as a boy. As Rose and Blaise's relationship intensifies, Rose is forced to choose between the affections of her longtime friend and the new guy from the right side of town. Not to mention the fact that none of Blaise's rich and popular friends approve of him dating a girl like Rose.
