Protectors of the Dawn (2020)

SPOILERS AHEAD!. As Emily (11) walks home from school with her step brother Yang (19), a gang of bullies led by Emily's classmate Ryan (12) and his brother Darius (21) confront them, threatening to teach Emily a "lesson". After a failed threat, Yang engages the gang in a fist fight, which in Emily's imagination, looks like an awesome fantasy martial arts combat, where Yang ends up victorious. Arriving at home, their mother (VO) is not approving of the example Yang is setting for Emily. Yang has to leave early for university the next morning, thus unable to accompany Emily to school. However, he reassures her, and leaves her with an umbrella, which Emily imagines as a sword. The following morning, Emily encounters Ryan's gang who seem to be picking on a younger new kid, Max (9). Recognising the fear Ryan has for her after yesterday's beat down, Emily decides to step in the middle of the conflict and rescue Max. Despite being one against Ryan and 4 bigger kids, Emily channels her imagination and transforms herself into the master swords-woman she saw on TV...in her head, and chases the bullies away, giving them a lesson of courage.
