Not In Vain is a fly on the wall documentary of the Miss Universe Great Britain competition. It is the first time the organizers have allowed cameras behind the scenes of one of the most famous beauty pageants on the planet and what goes into finding the UK's representative for the international stage. The film follows the winners journey to India, where they meet with female survivors of acid attacks at Sheroe's Cafe in Agra. A cafe set up to give survivors a second chance at life and to help them heal from their attacks. The cafe supports them to be self sufficient so they can break away from their abusers and live independent lives, whilst also bringing attention to the atrocity of Acid throwing by operating the cafe on a very public platform. Thanks to their campaigning Acid attacks were declared a criminal offense in India in 2013.
