An exciting documentary revealing the personal and political challenges of young, migrant Londoners today. Told through the first meeting of photographer Darren (27) and poet Edward (19), we follow their contrasting childhood stories of migration to London from Hong Kong and Ghana respectively. Both caught between two homes and two cultures, this pairing develops an intriguing connection during an honest conversation about family, ethnicity and migrating to London. Despite cultural differences, Edward, a second-generation Ghanaian, and Darren, first-generation Cantonese, navigate together their pasts, identities and emotions. The more they open up and listen to the stranger beside them, the more their worlds overlap, they discover a shared story. A story of isolation and connection, of migration and integration, of identity crises and artistic expression. Together they work through the impact of living 'outside the comfort zone' of privilege. Through Edward and Darren's rapport and humanity, the film explores how young, marginalised voices in Britain feel not only caught between cultures, but also how this generation works together to create connections and find comfort in a society that's politics wants to keep them living 'outside the comfort zone'.
