Lt Col Dan "Noonan" Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot in the Air Force Reserves, was returning home on a commercial flight from his second tour of duty in Iraq when he came face-to-face with the reality that families face when they lose a loved one who is serving in the military. The pilot announced the plane was carrying the remains of Corporal Brock Bucklin, and Rooney watched as Corp. Bucklin's casket was carried off the plane and met by his family, including Bucklin's young son, Jacob. Rooney looked at Jacob and thought of his own wife and daughters. As he witnessed this life-altering reality, he couldn't walk away without doing something to help. On the spot, he committed to spend his life changing the future of America's grieving spouses and children. 'Folds of Honor: A Fighter Pilot's Mission to Deliver Healing and Hope to America' shares the story of what came of Lt Col Rooney's commitment: an organization that provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen and disabled service members. Journey with families who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and see how one man's vision, combined with the support of hundreds of thousands of others, has forever changed the lives of the next generation of American heroes.
