McKinley's Guns (2022)

'McKinley's Guns' is an historical and educational documentary about the 1898 Coup and Massacre, which was state-sanctioned by North Carolina Governor Daniel Russell, planned by a shadow government (White Government Union), and executed by federal U.S. and NC state troops, who were under the command of former Confederate generals and President McKinley. A combined federal and state military operation was carried out in Wilmington, which resulted in the overthrow of the locally elected government, and in the killings of hundreds and the displacement of thousands of black North Carolinians. For more than nearly 124 years, there has been a concerted effort to distort and manipulate the historical facts surrounding the motivations, planning, and execution of the Nov. 10, 1898 Coup and Massacre in Wilmington NC. 'McKinley's Guns' reveals "The Men Behind the Guns" who pulled off the only successful coup d'etat on American soil, and who murdered unknown numbers of Wilmington's black citizens.
