"JUSTICE BETWEEN THE LINES" is a taught, intelligent thriller that imbues the elements of a procedural drama with a factual, international story-line that creates the excitement and flavor of a contemporary western. The backdrop of rural East Texas generates an atmosphere with mysterious trappings and nuances that embodies the microcosm of society as it reflects current and entrenched national social issues. The war over the most critical national concerns in today's society is being waged in places just like East Texas. The level of inequalities, racial, social, and economic, are compounded by miscreants, sociopaths, and lawbreakers who have insinuated themselves into the mainstream of society. This criminal element thrives in a world where the compass that defines mortality for most people has no application to their reality. "Justice" is written in a tone resonant of James Lee Burke's method of blending layers and connections between the characters and the plot, while creating dynamic characters in a style reminiscent of Elmore Leonard. The characters in "Justice" are realistically flawed, compelling, and convincingly human. They live in a world with a fine line between good and evil where morality is perceived as a perpetual gray choice.
