Marty's Mountain (2020)

Marty's mountain is a film about young adult suicide as a young man searches for his lost meaning. After the death of his wife from cancer Marty seems to be in a dream world as he tells his psychiatrist that he has to find "his mountain - that there is an old man in a tepee who has the answer to his dreams". Marty tells his sister and his father good bye as he leaves for the high country in mid-winter. When he arrives he is greeted by 4 feet of snow and a blizzard. Marty seems to be slowly freezing to death as he finds a place to sleep inside an old wood shed. There, he has visions of an old man in a teepee who tells him to, "go find your mountain". Marty wakes and begins his journey again. Marty comes upon a beautiful waterfall and frozen lake as he walks out and onto the very distant ice. Marty staggers as if to keep his balance ...then falls into the icy lake bed. The camera pans upward as it reveals the Mt. Lassen volcano in the frozen grey landscape.
