Haleem Khan belonged to the Muslim community he had to learn it without the knowledge of his parents. He did so for 8 years. He earned name and fame through his performances, which his father came to know only much later through other people, which disappointed him very much. How Haleem convinced his father? How Haleem managed the dance-life balance? How his parents and his community reacted? And how he managed all of them for the sake of art, forms the crux of this film. The film also looks from a point of view of a male performer impersonating female characters and how faced criticism / appreciation from the society for doing so. It is a struggle of an artist from one religion performing an art form from another religion, making his own identity against the hurdles put up by the society.
