BlackSkin (2023)

Phillip, a black man who resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is pulled over for a minor traffic infraction while on a drive with his fiance and stepdaughter. Unfortunately, the situation tragically escalates, resulting in the police officer shooting and killing Phillip as he fiance captures it all on a live stream. A protest is held in Phillip's honor. Those protests turn into riots. Phillip's cousin, Louis, while in attendance at the riots, gets into some trouble that forces him to reevaluate his life. Attempting to get his life back on track, Louis decides to open up a plant-based restaurant in Uptown Minneapolis. Shortly after Louis opens his restaurant, tragedy strikes Minneapolis again. The world witnesses George Floyd, another black man, killed at the hands of a white Minneapolis police officer. Fed up, the city explodes into riots again and Louis' restaurant, his dream of a new, better life, is now in danger of being destroyed.
