Comply+-Ance (2020)

Three shorts and three supplements tackle the theme of "compliance." In the first story, a directionless wannabe actress finds herself wedged between her parents' wishes and those of a strong-willed director. Next, a police officer and his robot sidekick take on baddies resorting to outrageous crime prevention methods that give new meaning to the notion, "the end justifies the means." Finally, self-regulated speech within the Japanese broadcast system crafted to promote social sensitivity, something akin to the idea of "political correctness," is taken to its dizzying and wholly absurd conclusion.
