Joe keeps reliving the car accident that killed his girlfriend, Chelsea. His PTSD gets so bad that he starts hallucinating his own ego. As Joe slips into this bout with schizophrenia, it distorts his sense of reality and traps him inside his prison of belief. This reflection of Joe's survivor guilt, his ego, worsens his suicidal tendencies until he reaches his breaking point. Soon, that breaking point becomes a revelation for Joe, and a turning point in Chelsea's journey of grief.
