As the romance between Nigerian-American Ada Eze and Black American Trey Williams evolves into an engagement, their cultural differences are suddenly exacerbated by the arrival of the Eze matriarch, Nene from Nigeria. The Atlanta-bred Williams matriarch, Ms. Bea, is both Trey's grandmother and parent, certainly a force to be reckoned with. Wedding preparations expose the dichotomy within the Black cultural experience in America.
