Before She Was (2021)

Jessica Wilson's life isn't all that bad. She lives in a small town called Maplewood with her loving parents and has a great group of friends. However, something's been off - she sees images of a strange man while she sleeps and is constantly being taken over by her nightmares. Jessica can't seem to escape them or find any answers, so she uses these nightmares as inspiration for her writing. After she enters a short story "Before She Was" in a national high school story competition, she unexpectedly wins. As the local news channel broadcasts her achievement, things take a turn when a troubled man named Ronnie Jackson drops everything to find the girl he's been trying to hunt down for years.
