Estrelas (2021)

This is a documentary on the storming of power by women, women who take over their lives, their destinies. Centered in the Brazilian immigration in France, a constellation of lives makes up this film. Some talk about loneliness, love in another language, rebuilding after a breakup, being a foreigner. Others show us a female samba group, meetings between women to talk about women's topics, success as a cheffe de cuisine. Still others alert us to traps: a human trafficking network, a marriage that quickly turns into a nightmare for the woman who arrives in a country where she knows no one.
