Inimicus (2024)

Even those among us who feel we don't deserve salvation can still find it, no matter how long the road may be. The unspoken trauma caused by PTSD still haunts Clyde, a former soldier who has found difficulty leaving the war behind. Despite efforts from friends, his VFW support group, and his wife, Clyde can't shake the nightmare of snapping and hurting the one he loves the most. The inimicus - the enemy within - won't give him respite until he finally faces the truth: what happened on that distant battlefield was not his fault. The screenplay for this concept was a Semifinalist at the 2023 Hollyshorts Film Festival in Los Angeles back in August. We filmed the concept in October 2022 and have received great feedback from several industry professionals. We have reoriented the concept into a more concise vision of the film we ultimately want to make. PTSD and soldier reintegration are two topics that are still sorely underrepresented in today's cinema. With a proper budget to tell a fuller story, we want to further illustrate the struggles these heroes go through, the impact it has on their families and friends, and how it's still possible, no matter how lost one may be, to find salvation and forgiveness - and to overcome.
