Major Anna Svetlova is a district police officer of the seaside town and the pride of the local police department. However, over the years of impeccable service, she did not arrange her personal life. And finally, Anna decides to leave her hectic profession and retire. However, the plans of the heroine are changed by two visitors from the capital. Lieutenant Daria Kashina from Moscow is suddenly appointed as Anna's assistant. Svetlova takes the girl with hostility. She's not ready to accept her boss's attempt to write himself off. Anna does not have time to get used to her new partner, and then the Moscow artist Georgy Zelenov begins to show her signs of attention. Soon, while walking with a dog, he discovers human remains in a shallow river. Anna tries to find out the identity of the deceased, but the investigator, in order not to spoil his statistics, closes the case. And then the heroine, together with Daria and George, begin to plunge into the circumstances of this long-standing crime.
