An idealistic American journalist seeks to escape pre-war Berlin with his Jewish fiancee, but when she is sent to a concentration camp, the journalist must persuade Joseph Goebbel's star director, the powerful and jaded Nazi filmmaker, Veit Harlan, to help him save her life.
