Marta, a young German woman of Polish origin who has adapted perfectly to the German lifestyle, is confronted with the conservative views of her father Piotr, which leads to unexpected challenges. Time pressure and stress on the job result in a smouldering crisis of identity. At her work as an interpreter at a police station she encounters the also Polish born homeless man Mieczyslaw. The situation escalates and Mieczyslaw becomes the victim of Marta's pent-up anger and frustration. Is her own socialization the reason for this escalation? Or is Marta in reality confronting her father's conservative views by attacking Mieczyslaw, who also grew up in underprivileged circumstances? On her way home to her boyfriend, Marta already regrets her emotional outburst. In search for her own identity and overwhelmed by her thoughts, Marta tries to give the day a positive turn.
