When neophyte teacher Sonya Roberts is hired at Bessemer Hills High, an inner-city school, she has one goal; to inspire and cultivate the students through art. Despite an icy reception, she is undeterred especially when she stumbles across Alpha Martin, an incredibly talented but troubled boy.
