Tommy finds herself torn between the future of technology and the comfort of traditional human bonds when she is hired to direct the ad for an innovative 'smart" contact lens which allows the wearer to see and speak to people who are not really there. Though the contacts bring people together electronically she still feels out of touch. In contrast, she watches with envy as her husband emotionally moves people with his one man show while she struggles to connect as a commercial filmmaker. We follow Tommy's navigation through the layers of screens imposed by modern technology and our unrelenting need to stay connected.
