The Heart That Beats Within is not a story about big oil, it's a document of a small community and its people; generations of people who have experienced the effects of a shifting global economy and the slow death of manufacturing in Australia. As these people had nourished the refinery with their time, passion and skill, so too had the refinery nourished them, not only providing jobs for those that worked there but an infrastructure that sustained an entire community for nearly sixty years. These are some of their stories.
