In August 1983 a prairie fire raged in Southeastern Montana, consuming much of the dense grass and vegetation that was hiding the secrets of the Battle of the Little Bighorn, which was fought 107 years earlier. The now barren ground revealed much to a team of experts wishing to separate fact from fiction. The fables of Custer's last stand, the tactics employed by both combatants and vindication of many Native American oral histories.
