John's freshly mutilated corpse turns up behind Bob and Luca's couch, immediately leading them to worry that they'll be suspects in the murder. Their attempts to covertly dispose of the body and move on with their lives are challenged by their nosy landlady (and self-styled detective) Amy Ann, and her uncle, NYPD Officer Lyman. At the party they throw to divert suspicion from themselves, Bob and Luca are less concerned with John's murder than in their romantic competition over Kay, a friendly Kmart cashier. Their evening is complicated by the arrival of John's enigmatic sister Marisa, a series of threats from Grendel (a member of John's secret gang), and the reappearance of the dead body. Bob and Luca are cleared of suspicion when the body falls (or, perhaps, is thrown) out of an upper-story window and his death is ruled a suicide. Amy Ann, refusing to believe that her lover would commit suicide, insists on solving the murder and uncovering the truth.
