On Culture and Tropics (2014)

There is a schism between the capacity to understand and the necessity to simply observe. And Claude Lévi-Strauss, the famous French anthropologist battled for this. Drawing on his understanding of the world, this film tries to apply its ideas and thoughts on modern Indonesia and Malaysia, in an era of mass tourism. Mixing various footage and poems by Fisnik Maxhuni, this film gives an insight of what it is to be modern, or even post-modern in the 21st Century.
