Fencer plunges us into the heart and mind a determined female athlete struggling with anxiety and extraordinary challenges. The film is about mental health and sports, anxiety, and what it means to be pursue a goal at any cost. At its heart the film raises the question of why people pursue greatness, and explores the deleterious effect of getting one's sense of worth and self esteem solely through achievement.
