Strength and Fortune (2017)

Maryam is just like any other American girl. Her parents embarrass her, she loves listening to music, and she writes fortune cookies to support her dream of being a rapper. For the rest of her community, Maryam is anything but average. She's muslim, and instantly identifiable by the scarf wrapped around her head. So when an ignorant rival rapper confronts Maryam at her big debut, she must find strength in her own voice to gain acceptance in Oakland's colorful underground scene.
