Skins (2017)

Doris is an introverted young adult who grew up with an overbearing and often superficial mother. Although Doris believes her mother loves her and has only the best intentions, she doesn't often feel accepted for who she is by her mother and by proxy, everyone else. All of Doris' fears manifest when she overhears a conversation between the boy she is interested in and another boy discussing her "masculine" figure. After a moment of emotional turmoil and a simple but effective conversation with her best friend, Karen, Doris starts to accept herself. Doris begins to gain confidence and she physically and emotionally transforms...into a sea creature.
