Cephei (2017)

Hannah is a young adult who, in her father's footsteps, is fascinated and fixated on the idea of contacting beings beyond Earth. Her father was a researcher at NASA and was working independently on developing radio systems that could actively send out communications over great distances and receive returning transmissions, in the hopes of discovering and communicating with alien life. Hannah has become obsessed with the idea of continuing her father's research to fulfill the legacy that he set out to create. Hannah uses this obsession as a form of trying to reconnect with her departed father.
