Wide Open (2018)

When Jesse Mack's airplane is stolen from the tarmac of an international airport in Mexico, he realizes he is the target of rogue federal agents with an agenda. Jesse soon finds himself detained in a federal prison with his bail denied, and his rights as a U.S. citizen stripped away under the guise that he is a threat to national security. Jesse sits in prison facing what is possibly one of the earliest attempts to prosecute an American born citizen, on U.S. soil, under the Patriot Act. The protagonist and the events of this screenplay are based on real life happenings. WIDE OPEN is a dramatized version of one family's fight to win against enormous odds. (Circa 2006-2008)
