A little heavier and more disturbing than I'd have expected in a TV-14, including people being shot in the head, commanded to commit suicide, rocks thrown at a woman, etc. It wasn't Full Metal Jacket-gory, but it wasn't really PG-ish either. I'm not sure where to put it.
Profanity
Severe
Profanity was pervasive and severe. Lots of F-bombs. Did they even use the F word all the time like that in the 1950s? Language belonged more to an R rating.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
Mild
Characters drank beer, and one got drunk and danced. Overall, it was mild. Cigarettes were used in trade, but I don't remember seeing anyone actually smoking.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
Severe
Intense scenes involved people on fire, people shot in the head, a woman being falsely accused and stoned from her village, riots, and the execution of unarmed people.
