On the 13th of April 2015, Czech Libertarian Vit Jedlicka set a flag on a no-mans-land between Croatia and Serbia and declared a new country called Liberland. This act gained huge international attention with more then 300,000 people from around the world applying for citizenship, including more then 100 millionaires. A small group of pilgrims arrived in Serbia to start their new country. For three months, President Jedlicka and a private shareholder group called the Liberland Settlement Association, were fighting for the survival of Liberland and to create a real, internationally recognised state. The filmmakers follow this band of pioneers, as they attempt to settle the 8 square kilometers of Balkan no-mans-land, and realise their dream of a libertarian paradise.
